Fashion Art Toronto

Overview

EVENT: Toronto Fashion Week
ROLE: Photo Editing Team Lead
SCOPE: Runway photo editing & delivery
TIMELINE: Fall/Winter ’24, Spring/Summer ’24, Fall/Winter ’25

CONTEXT & APPROACH

Tight turnarounds, thousands of photos, publication-ready deliverables–Toronto Fashion Week required fast and consistent work under pressure. As the Lead Photo Editor, I oversaw a team responsible for editing and delivering all primary runway photos, setting the visual standard for how the event would be represented publicly. My role required setting a cohesive visual style across designer aesthetics and lighting conditions, managing quality control across over 100,000 photos per event, and ensuring designers, external media, and internal executives were satisfied with the final look. The goal was to preserve each designer’s individuality and creative expression while meeting the standards required for publication and long-term brand representation of Fashion Art Toronto.

Execution & Impact

From approximately 25,000 photos per day, our team culled, edited, and delivered the best looks of each show by the following morning, allowing the internal media team to post daily recaps and quickly distribute materials to external media. Final images were published by FASHION Magazine and ELLE Canada, extending the reach of the event far beyond the runway. Throughout my three seasons with Fashion Art Toronto, our team has helped the organization share its scrappy, artistic spirit while balancing a polished, consistent visual record.

REFLECTION

This project reflects my ability to lead teams under pressure while balancing editorial standards and creative prowess. The work required judgement, consistency, technical expertise, and most importantly, understanding how to craft a top-down production architecture that shapes public perception. The result was a body of work that designers, partners, and media can continually rely on, and a body of work I’m incredibly proud to showcase.
